Volunteering with the Bat Project

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the project through volunteering during 2016 and we look forward to seeing you in 2017. Your help ranged from bat surveys and practical conservation tasks to administration.

Already we have developed……

…..a team of people supporting the Devon Bat Survey by offering to analyse some of the bat data collected by volunteers. Find out more here

…..people supporting at events and in the community. Find out more about this role here

…..volunteers trained to offer talks to groups. More details here

One area we are keen to recruit support with is web based and marketing tasks to help us with website updates and social media so we can keep spreading the word about all of the fantastic events and opportunities offered by the Project.

One of our focuses for 2017 is to develop our volunteer teams and opportunities further. We are looking at how we can develop accredited units with AQA so that if people are interested they are able to gain qualifications whilst volunteering with the project.

People offer their time in different ways from ad hoc support at events, working from home or at Cricklepit Mill, Exeter. So whether you have an hour or two to spare, or a day a week then get in touch as there are always lots of opportunities.

Find out more from Lizzy Mooney at or see all of the volunteer roles in the downloads section  on our website.
