South Efford Marsh – Bat Walk

Join staff from The Bat Conservation Trust to find out more about one of England’s rarest mammals – the grey long eared bat!
Learn about basic bat detecting using heterodyne bat detectors, we will listen out for this rare and elusive species as well as other bats, foraging in the wet grassland and hedgerows of Devon Wildlife Trust’s South Efford Marsh. Please wear sturdy/waterproof footwear and bring warm/waterproof clothing. Also bring a torch.
HOW TO GET THERE
Meet at Timbers Car Park in Aveton Gifford. (Car park by Tidal road). SX693473. There will then be a short walk on the road to the other side of the river, so bringing a torch is essential.
