Picnics, Poppies and Pipistrelles
Date: Wednesday 28th of August 2019Time: 5.30pm-9.30pmLocation: Brownstone National Trust Carpark, Kingswear, Dartmouth TQ6 0EH
Join the National Trust, Plantlife, Devon Greater Horseshoe Bat Project and the Bat Conservation Trust for an evening walk to take in some of the Kingswear Peninsula’s wonderful wildlife.
We will be looking at the wildflowers of arable margins and farmland birds, followed by a bring-your-own picnic and a guided bat walk. On the walk we hope to see and hear some of Devon’s night time wonders after sunset.
Kingswear Peninsula is home to the rare greater horseshoe bat and Cirl Bunting. There are also some fascinating wild flowers (such Weasel’s Snout and Corn Marigold) which thrive in farmland found here.
Tea and coffee will be provided but please bring your own picnic, a torch and appropriate clothing for keeping warm after sunset.
Please book your place by visiting the Plantlife event page.
