MENUMENU

Funding boost in the Tamar Valley

Funding news

Thanks to funding from West Devon Borough Council, we were able to buy more bat detectors this year. They have already helped us with our research and community work in the Gunnislake area, and are vital to help us learn more over the next two years of the project. We have lent the detectors to land owners to find out what bat species visit their land and also to a student for some research. The research investigated the effects of habitat features on greater horseshoe bat hunting activity in the Tamar Valley area.

Bat walks training

We’ve taken 50 people out on bat walks and equipped 5 people with the skills to lead walks of their own in the future. We will be running more bat walk leader training in 2019. To find out more get in touch with the project team bats@devonwildlifetrust.org.
