Building a Bat Roost in East Devon

Date: Tuesday 3rd of September 2019
Time: 10am-4pm
Location: Southleigh , East Devon,

Description

The Bat Project, Axe Vale & District Conservation Society and East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty have teamed up to create a purpose built bat roost.

Help us to put the finishing touches to the bat roost at this practical event. We need to fix exterior wood cladding to the south side of the building. This will provide roosting opportunities for other types of bat, as well as creating a ‘cool tower’ for hibernating horseshoe bats.

You are welcome to come along for part or all of the day.

Further details

Bring a packed lunch and flasks and wear suitable footwear and clothing according to the weather. Some drinks and biscuits will be provided for breaks.

It’s a short walk from the car park to the roost, but the nature of the task makes it unsuitable for people with mobility issues.

Location

Southleigh, East Devon. Meet at Blackbury Camp car park.
