Volunteers are needed to join our ‘Bat Blitz’ research surveys, where multiple detectors are placed in close proximity to the bat roost. Using static recorders you will help us collect data which will then be analysed to see what the greater horseshoe bats are up to.
At this session you will be given equipment to put out in specified locations in the surrounding countryside straight afterwards. You will then need to collect the detector anytime on Monday 18th July and return to us between 8-10am Tuesday 19th July.
The research surveys are organised in partnership with University of Exeter. At the end of the recording season, the data will be analysed and the results reported back to you by the end of the year.
