Berry Head evening bat walk

Date: Friday 21st of September 2018
Time: 6.45pm-8.30pm
Location: Berry Head

Join us for a unique opportunity to see the rare greater horseshoe bats at Berry Head, a Geopark Gateway Site.

The greater horseshoe bats live in the caves formed in the 400 million year old limestone cliffs. We will begin at the Artillery Store at the end of the headland, where a short talk will be given about the greater horseshoe bat. We then head out onto the reserve to see how cows help to feed the bats, before moving on to watch the spectacle of the bats emerging from their roost, using bat detectors to hear their calls.

Meet at the Artillery store, at the end of the headland
