Beer Quarry Caves Bat Day

Beer Quarry Caves Bat Day is a free event (apart from a fee for the optional cave tours). As well as all things bats, look out for a life size replica skull of Dippy, the Natural History Museum’s famous Diplodocus. The skull will be making an appearance as part of his South West Tour where you can make Dippy hats and there will be a Jurassic Coast rocks and fossil display. Activities in the Marquee
In the Bat Day marquee, there will be many free activities, including a nature walk, crafts, face painting and much more from Clinton Devon Estates, Jurassic Coast Trust, Devon Greater Horseshoe Bat Project, Jurassic Coast Ambassadors and The Pebblebed Heaths Conservation Trust.
Food will be available to purchase including bacon/sausage rolls as well as cream teas.
There will also be underground bat tours of caves costing £5 child/senior/adult, £15 family ticket of 4 – Under 5 yrs go free. No booking required, just turn up on the day.
How to get to the event
Free Shuttle Bus
There is limited parking at the quarry, but there will be a free shuttle bus calling at: Beer Square, Beer Head Car Park (£2 to park all day) and Pecorama (free).
