Conference details

Our Bats & Communities Conference is aimed at people who can make a difference in championing bats in their communities. There will be a series of inspiring talks from both professionals and local champions.

Bats & Communities Programme now launched

View the full Bats & Communities Conference Programme.
By the end of the day we hope to equip attendees with the knowledge and confidence to make their village or town bat friendly. You will find out more about activities such as;
  • the promotion of bat friendly gardening
  • spreading the word through events
  • leading bat walks
  • undertaking bat surveys
  • bringing bat friendly thinking into neighbourhood plans

We won’t be running an evening bat walk as this would make it an extremely long day (sunset is nearly 10pm). However, straight after the conference from 4.30-6pm, there is an option to have a walk around Chudleigh to see the habitats and areas used by the greater horseshoe bats. This walk contains muddy and steep sections, so appropriate footwear will be essential. Places will be limited and sign up will be on the day.

Further details

Lunch is provided but we do request a donation of £5 towards the cost of lunch, refreshments and running the conference. Pay and display parking is available close to Chudleigh Town Hall (131 spaces, £3.30 for the whole day).
Chudleigh is easily accessed from the A38 south of Exeter, or to the north of Bovey Tracey. For more details of the venue visit Chudleigh Town Hall.
